Valeria,
I thought your speech was very well organized, and that made it easy to follow, and pleasant to listen to. Your clearly discussed the core issues of the Obama platform, and simultaneously integrated responses to some of the core criticisms of Obama. I especially loved our closing. The repetition of “If you…then Obama is your candidate” was very effective. Good work!!
Valeria,
I thought you were poised and very comfortable with the material, it must have been difficult to do the speech in one take!
I liked that you early on in your promotion of Obama you address one of the chief criticisms lobbied against him by the opposition, namely his experience. You phrased it as his “career choice” and did an effective job of presenting the positive qualities someone who has been a community organizer has on his resume.
I also thought you did a good job of integrating Obama’s messages of hope and change which have been so inspiring to many people. Including: the need to be a “model to other countries” and to “pass on the American Dream to other generations.” Ironically, the idealistic messages were also extremely prevalent in the Bush campaign rhetoric. (You could argue, however, that this is true in any American patriotic appeals.)
