Anna,
i thought your speech was very very good. every part of it seemed to be significant and meaningful. what i liked best about your speech was that it didn’t so much address the issues that have been stated over and over again to the point of fatigue, but more about the unspoken truth. i really liked how you stated there was no quick fix to our problems, and how these problems aren’t a result of the lack of ideas. i thought one of the most powerful lines of your speech was when you said there was a difference is being a good president and a good candidate. i thought you did a good job of including palin in your speech in a positive light. really liked the part how your vote is a vote of trust. finally i thought you did an excellent job of incorporating the music and the final message. that was extremely creative. great job, and this coming from someone doing a video on obama.
I really liked that you went into full detail about why you disagree with Senator Obama. Often times, we encounter (on all sides of the spectrum) dismissive voters who are voting based on party alignment and can’t give you the reasons for why they will not vote for the other candidate. I agree with a few points in your speech, mainly, like Matt, I agree with your statement that there is no quick fix to these problems we are facing.
The one issue I take with your speech is your defense of the choice of Sarah Palin for VP. One of my chief worries in politics is that once confronted with a failed policy or unpopular mechanism, the system will make a drastic swing in the opposite direction. You bring up Vice President Dick Cheney’s “hijacking” of the Presidency, yet I worry that in our fear of another VP appropriating the same powers we will emasculate the office or look upon those who are unqualified as possessing a positive attribute.
